Forced Displacement Monitoring

Forced displacement monitoring is an initiative of the Humanitarian NGO Forum as part of its advocacy work to highlight the humanitarian situation in Colombia. Along with other humanitarian crises, forced displacement has had a significant impact on refugees and migrants in the country.

Methodology

The monitoring initiative aims to gather periodic information on the proportion of Venezuelan refugees and migrants who have been forcibly displaced in Colombia due to conflict, armed violence and natural disasters.

The information collected is of a strategic nature and provides data at an aggregated level, providing deeper insights into the country’s situation over different time periods.

Monitoring is undertaken through a remote collection technique (Random Domain Intercept Technology). This methodology is implemented by RIWI, an iMMAP Colombia partner, which provides information management support to the NGO Forum.

Following each wave, further questions of interest to humanitarian organizations are added to the question set. The questionnaire and link to the Humanitarian Data Exchange (HDX) database can be found in each wave's datasheet.
